(June 24, 2008) - DMB Sports camp is for both boys and girls ages 6-10 and offers kids to be taught the basic fundamentals in sports such as kickball, capture the flag, flag football, and more. Also DMB’s sports camp includes a visit from a different professional athlete each week. DMB Sports Camp is located at both at the National Conference Center and Claude Moore Rec Center.

AAU Regional Qualifiers for NOVA A.C.
(June 19, 2008) -Participating in the Virginia AAU District Track and Field Championships at Darling Stadium, Hampton on June 7 & 8 fourteen athletes from NOVA A.C. qualified to compete in a total of 24 events at the AAU Regional competition in Maryland in July. Many athletes achieved personal records with outstanding performances in the sizzling 100F heat.

(June 12, 2008) - The Ponytail Posse captured the Leesburg Girls Softball 8U Tournament Championship this past weekend at Freedom Park in Leesburg. The Posse finished the season 14-2, by avenging there only two losses of the season and a loss in last years championship to the Daffodils.

(June 6, 2008) - Loudoun Soccer '92 White, a rising U16 boys travel soccer team is looking for several players. The team has played the previous two years in ODSL and will be playing in NCSL beginning in the fall of '08. The team is led by Head Coach Aaron Smith and Assistant Coach Dave Schaffer. Additional training is provided by Alex Teixeira. The team philosophy is to promote player development and growth in a fun, challenging and competitive environment.

NFL Youth Flag Football League 2008 Fall Registration
(June 2, 2008) - The Ashburn based NOVA “NFL” Youth Flag Football League 2008 Fall League Season registration is now taking place online at www.novaflag.com. As in previous years, registration is expected to be heavy. The 2008 Fall League Season will mark the 11th Year that “NFL Flag” is being offered through NOVA Youth Flag Football to local community Residents. (June 1, 2008) - Loudoun Soccer's silver U11 girls team, the "Dynamite," scored an explosive victory this Memorial Day weekend, May 24-25, in the Manassas Bull Run Tournament. The Loudoun team tied the SYA Bombers 1-1, beat the Ashburn Soccer Club's Radicals 2-1, and bested Shepherdstown WV's Epic Storm 3-0. The Loudoun 96G Silver met the Clifton/Centreville-based SYA Bombers, currently ranked first in the Old Dominion Soccer League U11 G1 division, again in the final game, winning in overtime 1-0.
Loudoun Silver (aka Dynamite) is a select, travel soccer team of 10 and 11 year old girls who all reside in Loudoun County, from Ashburn to Purcellville, from Leesburg to Round Hill, from Waterford to Lansdowne. They play under the strong direction of head coach Nima Ebrahimnejad and assistant coach Alex Isaac. The Dynamite, playing in the Old Dominion Soccer League, go on this weekend and next to play the last three games in their regular season--including a match this Saturday, May 31, against the SYA Bombers.

Northern Virginia Cavaliers 14U Baseball Team
(June 1, 2008) - The Northern Virginia Cavaliers 14U baseball team is a group of Loudoun County 14U players that is mainly comprised of the same group that competed in the 13U Babe Ruth World Series last year in Purcellville as the GLBR Lions. The kids loved playing together so much that they did not want to disband and so they formed the new team that competes within the NVTBL.
They finished 2nd in the Mickie Gordon tournament in the 15U Division but have won several USSSA tournaments. Most recently they won an Elite 8 State Championship qualifier and so will be competing in that June 21 and 22. The group also travels to tournaments out of state such as an upcoming one to Myrtle Beach, SC in July. The team is coached by John Fulcher and managed by Allan Mocabee.

APEX Open House
(May 21, 2008) - APEX Gymnastics will host an Open House on May 30th from 6:30 - 8:00 pm with all proceeds to benefit Relay for Life. APEX currently has raised over $3000 for our teams effort through sponsership, donations, Penny Wars and proceeds from all Open Gyms for the months of April and May which are being donated to the Relay for Life efforts. Loudoun County Local Hershey Track & Field Meet
(May 19, 2008) - Organized by the Loudoun County Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services, the Loudoun County Local Hershey Track and Field Meet took place on Sunday May 18, 2008 at Heritage High School in Leesburg.
Athletes aged nine to fourteen from all over Loudoun County took part in track and field events. Forty-six athletes from NOVA Athletic Club participated in the event gaining fifteen first places.

(May 17, 2008) - Ranger Wrestling Club, which consist of wrestlers (K-12) and coaches throughout Loudoun County High Schools, participated in 2 different tournaments last weekend.
The Top four finishers in each weight class advance to Nationals.

Family Fun Day Postponed
(May 16, 2008) - Loudoun Soccer has decided to postpone their 3rd Annual Family Fun Day to the fall season. They have made in an attempt to avoid incurring additional expenses.
It is their fear that with the ground already being saturated, and the forecast for heavy rain most of the day on Friday, that they will not be able to set-up the inflatable activities (moon bounces and giant slides). The company that provides these activities will not allow them if the ground is muddy and/or slippery for safety reasons for the children using them.

Apex Opens New Location In Purcellville
(May 16, 2008) - APEX Gymnastics is proud to announce the opening of their Purcellville facility. Their new location will open July 2008 for gymnastics and tumbling classes for children ages 12 months and up. APEX will be located at 701 West Main Street next to the Purcellville Paint and Paper store. They will also host summer camps, art & music and two drop off programs, Stay N Play and Lunch Bunch. These programs will combine art, music, gymnastics and a daily craft centered on a monthly theme. Cheerleaders and dancers will have their own classe in our Tumble Tramp which includes work on our spring floor and our 30 foot long trampoline. APEX Gymnast Receives Invitation to Junior Olympic Nationals
Avis Hixon and coach Marty Newsom at Level 10 Regionals
(May 11, 2008) - APEX Level 10 Gymnast, Avis Hixon, received a call early Saturday morning inviting her to join the team representing Region 7 at the Level 10 Junior Olympic Nationals in Kissimmee, Florida on May 15 - 18th. Avis was named an alternate at the Regional competition, but due to gymnast injury has been called upon to perform at the championships. The regional team is made up of the top 7 athletes in the region. Upon receiving the call, the coaching staff and her family have been making travel arrangements and upgrading her workouts this week to prepare her for competition. Avis was well into her new skill training when the call came in, but will quickly switch back to routine training in preparation for this event. She will attend the training day on Friday and compete on Sunday, the 18th. In addition to competition, athletes have the opportunity to attend a welcome banquet and do some sight seeing. Avis will attend Towson University in the fall and plans to compete on their gymnastics team. Congratulations Avis and good luck!

APEX Crowned State Champion
(May 7, 2008) - Rebecca Henry, a Level 7 gymnast was recently crowned the state champion on balance beam at the State Championships in Newport News, Virginia. APEX had 20 gymnasts competing in the Level 6 & 7 State Championships last weekend and all gymnasts had very successful outings. Gymnasts were led by Caitlin Villavicencio and Cassidy Gagnon at level 6 who each finished 6th in the all around in their age group. Caitlin was also 2nd on bars and Cassidy was 4th on floor. The level 6 team finished 10th in team competition out of ** teams in the state. The level 7s were led by Rebecca Henry who won balance beam and finished 5th in the all around and Madison O’Braitis who finished 2nd on balance beam and 3rd in the all around competition.

BULLDOG BOYS BASKETBALL CAMP
(May 5, 2008) - This program is intended to improve overall skill and basketball fundamentals for boys entering grades 3 through 12. This will be a fun, but competitive environment. The camp will work to develop skills in the areas of dribbling, shooting, passing, rebounding, and defense. Competitions include 5 on 5, 1 on 1, Free-Throw Shooting, and Hot Shot.
